Tiny House Cool Air
Introducing a product review on the tiny house’s cooling system. The Fujitsu 9000 Air Conditioner by Halcyon along with two Opolar fans is all the tiny needs to keep it cool during 3-digit heat, warms it up fast, has a powerful fan, is intelligent and easy to operate. Completely satisfied by these appliances and this article explains it.
Mini Split installed by Tiny SMART House
The Fujitsu unit consists of 3 pieces.
1) Mini Split Wall Mounted unit for inside (pictured above)
2) Fan mounted on the trailer tongue outside (pictured below)
3) Remote control with wall mount bracket (pictured below)
The main unit is above the kitchen sink. Perfect position to run the fan, air conditioner or heater throughout. It cools the tiny down in 5 minutes and the heater warms it up just as fast.
Fan on trailer tongue
The fan is mounted outside on the 20’ trailer tongue. So, grateful for this unit. This summers heatwave and wildfires have been crazy HOT and smoky!
Remote Controller
It comes with a nifty remote controller conveniently stored in a wall mount bracket next to the door.
To save energy while away, activate the remotes Energy Saving button which controls the temperature while away preventing energy waste. If it doesn’t detect a human in 20 minutes it defaults to a set temperature. It has a sensor in it to detect humans by infrared light and detects our pets to keep them comfortable too.
Energy Ratings
Energy Guide states heating capacity 12,000 Btu and a heating efficiency rating of 14.2 with 13.5 being most efficient on the scale. The cooling capacity 9,000 Btu has a rating of 33 with 30.5 being most efficient. And, this is plenty of Btu for the tiny.
Air Filters
Maintenance: This model #AOU9RLS3 comes with 2 air filters. A Static Electricity Filter for removing dust and an Ion Deodorization Filter to reduce room odor.
Tiny House - Saving Energy and Money
Tiny house is cost effective and energy efficient. The extra spray foam insulation that Tiny SMART House installed, helps keep the cool air or heat inside.
To run the Fujitsu, refrigerator, lights and small electrical appliances in 220 sq. ft., the cost is phenomenally low.
In 2017 tiny’s electrical at .14 cents per kilowatt was $19. monthly or $223. for the year. Cool, huh!
So, far in 2018, January through August at .21 cents per kilowatt an average of $28. monthly or $222. year-to-date. In July, the hottest month of 100-113 degree temperatures, the bill was forty-five bucks, that's it, no joke. The real deal, no energy waste over at Just B Tiny house.
USB Fan
Tiny Smart House installed Dual USB Ports in two electrical outlets in the loft. Yay, love em!
We have two Opolar Portable Rechargeable Fans, F-20 Series that run on a Lithium battery, plugs into USB outlet or charger port and has 3 speeds. Quiet too.
Fan in Loft
Fan is small 6” tall x 5" wide. One upstairs in the loft and one downstairs in the living area. Tiny perfect!
How can tiny houses not be legal when this lifestyle is so energy efficient? That's one reason Tiny B is getting the word out...

Glad to hear, Ruby. Mini Splits cost more up front but in the long run are so energy efficient w/low monthly costs thereafter (smile).
