Friends recommended Frank Medina, a General Contractor from Cottonwood, Ca. He’s worked on large corporate jobs to mobile homes, decks and patios.
He helped me with various projects. The kind of DIY more advanced level projects requiring more tools... and more training skills than Tiny B has, oh, and, patience too, lol. I needed this table to be installed correct so, we didn't have to live with it crooked and not functioning right.
Installing custom wood sliding table
Frank aced it. The table fit perfectly and functions smoothly. Project took us under an hour and less than a couple hundred bucks. We had fun working on the tiny house. Most of the cost was in the purchase of the reclaimed walnut wood.
Sliding table installed
Using these two bar stools that I had for now, but a future project is to either replace them for a smaller version or better yet, cut them in half to make four smaller stools. In the interim, they tuck away under the staircase just fine.
Sliding table set for a meal
Add placemats and linens and we're set for entertaining. Very pleased with this multi-tasking table. It's so important that everything be as multi-functional as possible in a tiny house. Table is used for kitchen prep space, crafting, an office, for photo shoots or staging area.
So fun to be able to take this shot from the staircase looking down on the first floor.
Sliding table view from the staircase and loft
Do you see a table? What table? Yup, that's the point. When table is not in use, it slides easily back under the staircase.
Sliding table tucked under the staircase
Truly, each and every project, done with creative craftiness whether, recycled or up-cycled adds character and functionality to the tiny house which, makes living in a tiny house all the more relaxing and fun.
Thank you Frank for the awesome sliding table! And, Strategic Insurance Agency for the cutest "Home Sweet Tinyhome" postcard.

AWESOME! Good for you & your fabulous carpenter!!
Thank you, Wendy Anderson! I can’t imagine if I had tackled it, well, I can – it mighta been crooked and not slide in as smoothly as it does. So pleased with the outcome! Meanwhile, I could use Shop 101 and Carpentry 101 classes, lol.
