Microgreen Heaven

Posted on 01/19/201905/29/2019 by justbtiny

Meet Helen, she runs a startup farming operation selling microgreens to nearby restaurants and local communities, as well as to our park residents. She creates garden beds and helps us raise our own vegetables and sells the microgreens to the finest restaurants in the area.

Helen Denton, Business Owner of Lil Swiss Farms

Microgreen beds

Helen’s knowledge about urban farming is impressive as well as her background as a former executive in marketing, sales and hospitality. Chatting with her, while gardening, she tells me her start up just turned one year's old on January 1st of 2019.

Her product is of quality and I see her excellence in client relations and commitment to delivering only the finest product. She is dedicated to bringing the freshest local products to our coastal food co-ops, restaurateurs and chefs looking for the best. Her greens are cut and delivered locally within 24 hours of harvest, guaranteeing the freshest Farm to Table produce.

Fresh microgreens & edible flowers

The finest restaurants on the Oregon coast buy her products through her delivery service.

Depoe Bay - Restaurant Beck

Newport - Asiatico, Clearwater Restaurant, Oceana Natural Foods and Zack's Bistro

Florence - Bayview Bistro, Fresh Harvest Café, Home Grown Public House, Hukilau, Le Bouchon and Three Rivers Casino

Yachats - Adobe Resort, Ona Restaurant, The Green Salmon and Yachats Brewing and Farmstore

Impressive list of restaurants. Don’t let these lil veggies fool you, not only are they super cute and attractive for chefs to use to top their artistic dishes, they pop a bountiful of delicate to robust flavor, nutrition and color too.

Pinch me, as it is a tiny housers dream come true. To be in a community with its own greenhouse garden and, with Helen’s expertise in helping us raise our own vegetable gardens. Plus we have a place to store our own plants in the wintertime. The best perk is having the closest opportunity to purchase the freshest microgreens just a few steps from our tiny houses. Wow, how cool and healthy is that. Thus, the title of my blog, Tiny B is in "Microgreen Heaven".

Happy One Year Anniversary, Helen! May your business stay as green as your thumb and your microgreens.

When the greenhouse is only a few steps away, no excuse not to be healthy and skinny in 2019, right!
